Matt and Kelly Riesberg of Ankeny were in the process of finishing their basement, and decided that they wanted a unique look that would set their basement apart from everyone else. After working with Mark Bond on the exterior stone of their house, they decided to turn to Stone By Design once again. The area to design consisted of a large family room, a setback bar area with fridge and a curved bar. Matt and Kelly's goal for this project was to create a cozy, yet unique environment where they could relax with family and friends.
During the Project
After speaking with Matt and Kelly, we found that they liked the look of the old brick in some local bars. They entertain often, so they preferred to give it that cozy and comfortable atmosphere that is perfect for watching a game, playing cards or relaxing with some music and wine. Mark, from Stone By Design, decided to use Tupelo Stone and Old World Brick, with natural grout.
The Finished Project
